The Department of Public Safety has an opportunity for a part-time records clerk. This position requires confidentiality and specialized skills in typing dictated reports and data entry. This role will provide backup administrative assistance to the full-time Administrative Assistant as well as help with general purchasing functions.
This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and two years’ experience in a responsible clerical position. Must have the ability to type 50 WPM with high accuracy. Must have the ability to transcribe recorded dictation, excellent grammar, spelling, and word usage skills. Prior experience with law enforcement terminology is helpful, but not required. Selected candidates will be invited to take a keyboarding and grammar assessment.
The entry rate for this position is $15.99/hour. The position is onsite and offers daytime hours between the hours of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Friday. The schedule is flexible, working on average 25 hours per week. Post-offer conditions include an extensive background/driver’s license check and drug/alcohol screening.
