We are proud to announce the launch of our new High-Acuity Youth Program, designed to address the critical mental health needs of children and adolescents facing severe psychiatric challenges. We are currently seeking a dedicated Recreational Therapist to join our team and play a crucial role in the care of our clients.

Position Overview:

The Music therapist provides music therapy services in accordance with the standards of Music Therapy Clinical Practice, including patient assessment and individual care planning related to music therapy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, a creative approach to therapy, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Alongside our interdisciplinary team, you will develop and implement personalized treatment plans to support the recovery and well-being of our young patients and their families. Key Responsibilities:

· Accountable for practicing within the parameters of the Certification Board for Music Therapists, and all regulatory standards and established policies, protocols, and procedures

· Program Development: Design and implement individualized therapy programs that address the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of clients.

· Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments to determine the needs and interests of clients and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

· Therapeutic Activities: Facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, music, drama, outdoor activities, and community outings.

· Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to integrate recreational therapy into comprehensive treatment plans.

· Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and outcomes.

· Education and Support: Educate clients and their families about the benefits of music therapy and provide resources to support ongoing participation in therapeutic activities.

· Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends, attend professional development opportunities, and incorporate best practices into recreational therapy programs.

· Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant field such as music therapy, music, education, communication, art therapy, social work, counseling, or psychology

· Certification: Board certified music therapist preferred

· Experience: 2 years of experience in music therapy preferred and preferably in a behavioral health or clinical setting.

· Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, adaptability, and the ability to motivate and engage clients.

· Knowledge: Understanding of various therapeutic modalities and interventions used in music therapy.

· Licensure: Must hold a valid state license or certification as required.
