Industrial Networking Solutions is Hiring a Technical Engineer Near Richardson, TX
LocationOnsite at INS Corporate offices in Richardson, TX -
Must reside in Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area or be willing to relocate. There is no relocation package for this position.Responsibilities
- Provide quality, timely technical support and help troubleshoot issues with cellular routers (hardware, network connectivity, remote access, firmware, configuration, integration with customers infrastructure, logs).
- Provision and configure cellular routers according to customer specifications.
- Interact and consult with customers and internal INS teams to determine optimal application specific solutions.
- Create scope of work for engineering services to customer specifications.
- demonstrate router and cloud management features to stakeholders.
- Organize and maintain case logs and other documentation for accuracy and traceability.
- Work with INS internal teams, vendors, and customers on customer presentations, project to planning, implementation, training, and on-going support.
- Stay up to date with manufacturer product offerings and feature sets.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and apply them as appropriate to maintain our leadership position in the marketplace.
- Attend manufacturer training events to maintain INS' knowledge leadership position in the market.
- Update company website with tech tips and brief documents.
- Maintain applicable technical certifications as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant field or may substitute education for relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years troubleshooting technical issues related to routers.
- Strong knowledge of wireless network technologies and standards, including 4G LTE, 5G NR, and Wi-Fi.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience with configuring VPN, LAN, WAN, NAT, DNS, firewall, port forwarding, remote access, routing.
- Experience with cellular and Wi-Fi RF propagation and network performance optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (spoken and written), with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously, focusing on delivering high-quality results on time and high customer satisfaction.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues related to cellular routers.
- Proven technical writing skills on engineered solutions.
- Experience with Semtech (Sierra Wireless), Cradlepoint (Ericsson), Peplink and/or Digi devices.
- Cradlepoint Certified Network Associate (CPCNA) or Cradlepoint Certified Network Professional (CPCNP).
- Peplink Certified Associate (PCA) or Peplink Certified Engineer (PCE).
- CompTIA Network , CCNA or relevant certification.
- Must reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Willing to work in person at INS Corporate offices in Richardson, TX.
- Able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Able to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
