Job Title: Handle Finisher

Position Overview: We are seeking skilled craftsmen to join our team. Handle Finishing is part of the backbone of our company, and in many ways, it is what makes a knife. The employee will be responsible for meticulously crafting and finishing knife handles to ensure they meet our standards of excellence. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and a passion for producing top-quality products.

Responsibilities:

1. Sanding, shaping, and polishing handle materials such as wood, plastic, metal, or composite materials to achieve desired aesthetics and ergonomic feel.

2. Inspecting completed handles for imperfections, ensuring smoothness, uniformity, and proper fit to the blade. Also paying attention to any defects that may be on the blade to ensure a top tier piece of cutlery.

3. Assembling finished handles onto knife blades, ensuring secure attachment and alignment.

4. Collaborating with other team members including designers, machinists, and quality control personnel to maintain consistency and quality throughout the production process.

5. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and disposal of materials and tools.

6. Participating in ongoing training and skill development to stay updated on new techniques, materials, and equipment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Handle Finisher or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the knife industry.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools and comfortable using sanding drums, buffing jacks, and polishing machines.
• Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet production deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of different handle materials and their characteristics is a plus.
• Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
