• Review authorized purchase requisitions, analyze requirements, determine sources of supply, evaluate vendor capability, consider price quotations, and place orders to meet user department needs.
• Negotiate, approve, and maintain purchase contracts, bids, supplier programs, and blanket orders.
• Purchase, source, and maintain various commodities.
• Process daily purchase orders, past due reports, VMP reports, quotes, vendor DMRs, etc.
• Resolve receiving discrepancies with vendors.
• Interview salespeople at suppliers and evaluate products for company use.
• Work closely with engineering department personnel on new product designs.
• Keep abreast of changing market conditions and technological/material developments.
• Locate/certify new and alternate sources of supply.
• Resolve problems relating to defective material disposition, order shortages, delivery, pricing, or product quality.
• Expedite purchase orders when necessary.

• BS in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business preferred
• Excellent negotiating skills
• 5 years purchasing experience
• Advance Excel skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Working knowledge of personal computer
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work within a team environment
