Title: Summer Moody Park Meal ServiceLocation: 2320 W Burleigh, 53206 FLSA Status: Non-exempt Earnings: $14 per hour Make a difference and be part of our mission to improve the lives of Milwaukee youth and families!This position is responsible for implementing the Goldin Summer Meal Program as well as facilitating parent/child interactive experiences, both of which take place outside on Selig Field. This is a temporary summer position only, running from June 10, 2024 through August 30, 2024. The position is 25 hours per week, 5 hours per day, ranging from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Main Job Responsibilities
Assist the vendor with daily meal service by keeping the service area clean before, during, and after meals and serving as needed using safe food handling procedures.
Administer all records relating to the Summer Meal Service program, such as tic sheets and incident reports, etc.
Provide developmentally appropriate activities and structure in-between meals for families. Involve parents, volunteers and community leaders in structured literacy and safe play opportunities.
Provide resources and referrals in the Amani neighborhood to parents.
Serve as a role model for positive parent/child interaction.
Pro-actively maintain ongoing communication with program managers about project activities and/or program needs to ensure smooth running of programs.
Model appropriate behavior at all times. This includes developing and maintaining appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with staff, colleagues, and business partners (e.g. consultants, brokers, service representatives, etc.).
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Patience, positive customer service attitude, and cultural competency
Well organized with ability to adhere to schedules and specific timetables
Good organizational skills and strong youth management skills
The physical requirements are the ability
to sit and stand for long periods of time
to engage physically with participants (e.g., run, play, etc.)
