Busy, 5 doctor, small animal, veterinary practice looking for veterinary technician. Our clinic is expanding we are looking for new team members. We are a privately owned practice offering personal team relationships and an alternative to the corporate workplace.

Position: Veterinary Technician/ Assistant / Reception
Shift: Typically, 4 x 10-hour days Monday-Saturday= Full time
Part-time available

All employees are given the opportunity to complete their Veterinary Assistant Certification online. All fees including the first test fee for each section are covered by Midvalley Animal Clinic.

* Pay raises are based on skills learned and may be based on CVA level training

*Completion of the CVA is required for CVT tuition reimbursement

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Assist doctors and other veterinary technicians with various tasks: Restraint, vaccines, nail trims, entering charges, bandages, cleaning, etc.
• Provide top-notch customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Being attentive to client and pet needs.
• Answer and triage phone calls from clients using a 5-line phone system.
• Schedule appointments and procedures.
• Monitor client flow from check-in to discharge.
• Client callbacks.
• Fill prescriptions.
• Discharge patients.
• Client education.
• Assist in cleaning the hospital including but not limited to: keeping reception desk area and lobby clean and sanitary, taking out the trash and recycling, laundry, cleaning floors, bathrooms, exam rooms, kitchen, and kennels.
• Process payment transactions.
• Maintain proper documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Relay appropriate information to/from clients to doctors and/or management.
• Computer skills: Experience with Ezyvet Software is a plus, not a requirement. Able to use Windows-based computer systems, word processing, email, web search, and other skills needed to effectively use the practice management software program.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Must be able to safely lift 40 pounds.
