mtminc is Hiring a Lead, Mobility Specialist Near Bend, OR

What Will Your Job Look Like? The Lead, Mobility Specialist will be responsible for all activities associated with the ADA Paratransit Eligibility Determination program which includes application intake process, eligibility determinations and the travel training program. The Lead, Mobility Specialist will review application materials, conduct in-person interviews, and perform functional assessments to determine the applicant’s eligibility. The Lead, Mobility Specialist will also personalize lesson plans to teach a wide range of travel skills, including trip planning, street crossing, bus and train travel, map and schedule reading, and safety skills, all while utilizing public transportation to those that qualify for the Travel Training Program. This position will sit in Bend, OR. What You'll Do: Create and implement the ADA Paratransit Eligibility Determination program specific to this location Oversee and manage the ADA Paratransit Eligibility Determination program Determines final eligibility based upon the application, interview, functional assessment, and any supplemental information Conduct in-person interviews to assess mobility capabilities and review any supplemental information provided Provide written eligibility determination documentation to Client within ADA required and contracted time frame Create and provide one-on-one, individualized field training Demonstrate and instruct individuals on transit skills Demonstrate and instruct individuals on how to travel routes including navigation and way-finding strategies Instruct individuals on self-advocacy Establish relationships with professionals in the field, community and advocacy organizations Conduct group presentations within the community Review interview results and application paperwork and follow up on assessments and professional verifications, as needed Provide further written documentation to Client upon request Conduct functional physical and/or cognitive assessment with applicants that may include: Physical Functional Assessment using an outdoor course, Physical Functional Assessment using an indoor course, FACTS, or MMSE Apply information obtained to determine applicant’s capability to independently ride fixed route transportation Complete all necessary reports, paperwork and maintain on-going applicant tracking logs and reports for MTM and Client Research and identify opportunities to enhance the referral program within the community, creating custom presentations for this outreach Must conform to MTM’s HIPAA Other duties as assigned What You'll Need: Bachelor's Degree in social services, rehabilitation, ancillary health care profession, Orientation and Mobility Instruction or a related field Minimum of three years of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities Thorough knowledge of ADA Regulations Even Better if You Have... Must possess the ability to handle an array of confidential matters and maintain the highest level of confidentiality Demonstrated training skills, comfortable leading groups of people Strong interpersonal skills that allow for effective working relationships Intermediate level of proficiency or above with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent communication skills Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills Ability to work flexible hours, in all weather conditions Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality Solid interviewing, assessment and observational skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with older adults and people with a wide range of disabilities Ability to interact effectively with individuals with varying levels of intellectual and cognitive functioning Ability to be trained in administering a standardized evaluation tool and be able to consistently administer and score such a tool according to established protocols What’s in it for you: Health and Life Insurance Plans Dental and Vision Plans 401(k) with a company match Paid Time Off and Holiday Pay Maternity/Paternity Leave Tuition Reimbursement Leadership Mentoring Opportunities Min Salary: $60,000/ annually Max Salary: $70,000/ annually This information reflects the base salary pay range for this job based on current national market data.
