Job Title:  Material Handler Operator

Hours:  Full-time (night shift from 6 pm - 4 am)

Job Description:

An affiliate of C.A.C. Industries, Green Asphalt, is currently seeking a Material Handler Operator for the night shift from 6 pm to 4 am . Green Asphalt is based in Long Island City, Queens and is a 100% recycled asphalt manufacturer specializing in green infrastructure and development projects. The ideal candidate would have prior experience working at an asphalt plant. The compensation is $30-45 per hour depending on level of experience.

As a Material Handler Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the plant. Your duties will include operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, as well as performing manual tasks to load, unload, and transport materials.

Responsibilities:

• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage areas using appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Transport materials to designated storage areas or production lines as needed.
• Perform inventory counts and ensure accurate tracking of materials in the system.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Assist with other tasks as needed to support production and warehouse operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a material handler or similar role.
• Valid forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, as needed.
