General Description

The Research & Evaluation Manager of Illume is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of evaluation services, including internally- and externally-focused needs assessment, process evaluation, outcome evaluation, and cost-effectiveness evaluations through Illume: The Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. Additionally, this manager is responsible for organizing research activities taking place within or through the agency and for maintaining collaborative partnerships with behavioral health and other researchers active regionally and nationally. Further, the R&E Manager plans and implements dissemination activities to promote the use of evaluation and research findings, participates in agency planning/development and IRB activities, and develops, implements and reviews agency research and evaluation policy and procedures.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Co-lead Illume, along with directors of training & technical assistance and planning & operations.
  • Develop and monitor evaluation plans to assess agency progress on grant-funded projects and clinical services.
  • Share learning with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish a research agenda to identify service needs, workforce needs, and enhance the quality of care for persons with behavioral health conditions across the lifespan.
  • Facilitate the implementation of non-pharmacological interventions to enhance well-being among persons with behavioral health conditions.
  • Analyze, interpret, and report agency outcomes data and other program evaluation studies (e.g., grant projects).
  • Organize data from outcomes and evaluation activities that will allow organization to identify trends and assist in agency decision making.
  • Compile an outcomes report addressing agency-wide clinical monitoring for Executive Director’s review.
  • Disseminate findings to improve practice within the agency and wider system of care.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to assess and address community needs for enhancing a recovery orientated, evidence-based system of care.
  • Provide and document regularly scheduled, as well as informal ongoing supervision for all supervisees.
  • Write and/or assist others with developing, writing, and overseeing grants.
  • Scan the available general research literature as time permits and provide recommendations to Executive Director on implications for improving agency services or operations.
  • Oversee completion of introductory and annual performance reviews.
  • Consult with supervisors on annual performance review evaluations before review takes place.
  • Develop, nurture, and maintain positive relationships with consumers/families, other provider agencies, funders and the general community.
  • Hire and train staff as needed.
  • Review the management and resolution of all critical incidents.
  • Ensure compliance and collaboration with audits/accreditations (CARF, etc.)
  • Monitor grant and treatment fidelity and compliance with other grant requirements.
  • Complete annual training requirements as outlined by agency requirements and supervisor.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
