Sales Application Specialist SUMMARY: With focus on RFID technology, products, and solutions, in this role you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales process, from pre-sales consultations to post-sales implementation and support. You will play a critical role in driving the adoption of RFID solutions and ensuring customer success across FineLine’s target markets. Work across internal departments including New Product Development (NPD), Information Technology (IT), Production, Procurement, and Sales as well as directly with FineLine’s customers and partners. RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Expertise:Stay up-to-date on the latest RFID technologies, industry trends, and best practices.Work with industry and standards organizations such as GS1, Auburn RFID Lab, RAIN, ISO, etc., to understand the latest technical requirements, data standards, and protocols.Work with chip providers and inlay manufacturers to understand their product capabilities, specifications and performance fit across FineLine’s target markets and customers. Follow and understand RFID tagging requirements of all major retailers.Develop, manage, and execute processes to review individual brands' products and packaging and document how to RFID tag these products to meet various retailers' RFID requirements.Organize, manage, and execute successful ALEC/ARC submission and approval processes.Develop, manage, and execute processes to test, evaluate, and compare the performance and functionality of RFID tags across many use cases using Voyantic equipment as well as RFID readers and antennae used in real-life applications.Develop and maintain expertise of common RFID hardware used in FineLine's target markets, including but not limited to RFID mobile readers, fixed readers, RFID printers and encoders.Develop and maintain relationships with leading providers of RFID hardware and software solutions.Technical Sales Support:Provide pre-sales and post-sales support with a focus on RFID technology, its successful application in customer use cases, and meeting RF and data requirements.Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and recommend RFID solutions that best meet their needs.Conduct pre-sales consultations, product demonstrations, testing, and technical presentations and create reports to prospective clients.Provide post-sales support, troubleshooting, and assistance to resolve technical issues as needed.Solution Design and Proposal Development:Work closely with customers to spec-out RFID tagging solutions tailored to their specific applications and use cases.Develop detailed proposals, including applications guidelines, photos, videos, RFID packaging prototypes, technical specifications, and customer facing materials.Customer Relationship Management:Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the sales cycle for RFID technical evaluation, testing, and requirements development.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with sales, NPD, product management, sourcing, and operations to ensure everyone understands the latest customer RFID packaging requirements as well as the individual RFID products to meet those requirements.Process Management:Develop and manage processes to ensure efficient and effective execution of technical sales and support activities, RFID product testing, packaging evaluation and approval process, etc.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sales processes and customer satisfaction. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As Assigned POSITION TYPE/REQUIRED HOURS OF WORK:This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Up to 30% travel is required for this position. QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.Applicable experience in technical sales engineering, preferably in the RFID or related industry.Strong understanding of RFID technologies, standards, and protocols (e.g., NFC, HF, UHF).Experience with solution design, system integration, and project management.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and support.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.Willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements.
