As a Weekend News Writer for CBR, you will work with a dedicated editorial team to create original and informative articles that our discriminating audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. Are you a self-starting, hard-working and dynamic writer who can investigate, research and produce compelling news copy to tight deadlines and strict editorial standards? Are you a comic pop culture fan dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest movie and TV news and rumors? If so, apply to join the CBR News Team today!

Job Responsibilities

  • Write 5 news articles Saturday and Sunday (Friday-Sunday is preferred), under a wide range of word counts
  • Stay up to date on the latest news and trends in movies and TV, and anywhere else fandom may reach
  • Coordinate with Movies/TV News Editor for assignments and feedback

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in writing and editing
    • Some journalistic news writing experience is preferred
  • Must be available to write on the weekends
  • Broad working knowledge of old and current movies and TV series
  • Available at peak hours and strategic posting times strongly preferred

The hiring team at CBR will be back to you as soon as possible if we think you'd make a solid addition to the team. Only applications containing a resume and cover letter will be considered. It is essential that you demonstrate your breadth of knowledge of Movie/TV content in your cover letter. You will not be considered for the role if this information is not included. Please note that the next step in the hiring process involves a writing evaluation.

We look forward to hearing from you!
