REPORTS TO: Molding Manager

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Status: Full Time

PAY SCALE: $18.00/hr.

SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS EVENING/NIGHT: $3.00/hr.

JOB PURPOSE:

Manufacture high-quality plastic injection molded products while maintaining accurate inventory counts in a safe efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Determine product defects, notify quality and/or supervisor to have product corrected or production stopped if defects exist.
  • Operate an Injection Molding Machine in a safe and effective manner.
  • Keep accurate documentation of good and rejected parts.
  • Perform value-added operations and package manufactured products.
  • Keep accurate records of time allocated per job.
  • Read and understand operator work instructions.
  • Produce product based on operator work instructions and quality requirements.
  • Operate pallet jack.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of manufacturing components and finished goods.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Operate safely while caring for equipment and tools.
  • Operate equipment such as ultrasonic welder, part marker, bandsaw, table router and pneumatic hand tools.
  • Use of hand tools including Gate clippers, utility knives, ceramic knives, and deburring knives.
  • Use of PPE when needed.

The Operator - 1, as an employee of Tool Gauge & Machine Works, Inc., is expected to collaborate, engage, and support the company’s Mission, Vision, and Quality Policy, as well as be an ambassador of the company culture The Tool Gauge Way.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Support other departments in Tool Gauge, whenever the need arises.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Effective communication:
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Able to keep accurate quantity records.
  • Able to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Manual dexterity to handle and manipulate plastic parts.
  • Team oriented.
  • Efficient and action driven.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Dependable with reliable attendance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a contract manufacturing organization preferred.
