Mechanic (Truck Fleet Operations)

We are looking for a professional Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of equipment and trucks at our New Rochelle headquarters.

This position requires the ability to work independently, and in a group setting to accomplish tasks assigned.

To be successful in this role you must be physically and mentally fit and have a strong mechanical aptitude. You should also have knowledge and skills needed to perform basic maintenance and repairs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills. Our business experiences seasonal peaks, and as a result, you should be available and willing to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities include :

• Work in a shop setting and out in the field, performing repairs to a wide variety of heavy and light trucks and equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues.
• Perform general shop duties as assigned by the fleet manager.
• Drive within the tri-state area as necessary to perform repairs or maintenance in the field.

Requirements

• Experience working on equipment and road vehicles.
• Understanding of hydraulics systems. Experience with Bucket Trucks, Chippers and Spray equipment is a plus.
• Experience with diagnostic tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
• Comprehend service manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain detailed records of services performed.
• Must provide own basic tool set.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail.
