IT Risk Intern – New York

Summary

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for an IT Risk Intern to support the Information Technology Team in the Summer of 2024. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 14 offices in six countries. 

The IT Risk Intern will be a member of the Risk Program team and will participate in various projects. This role will require you to work with the team on firm certifications and work with our third party vendors. Interns will have the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain confidential information at all times.

The Summer Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience in a law firm environment. Candidates must be willing to work 35 hours a week for a Summer Internship starting June 3, 2024 through August 9, 2024. While this internship is remote, we are open to candidates based in NYC to work in the office on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with senior-level IT staff and provide IT risk management support
• Work with third party vendors on risk management matters
• Use problem solving skills to identify ways to resolve issues
• Provide services that require a computer system or network
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be in the process of completing an associates or undergraduate degree

• Academic or coursework focus on IT Security preferred
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

ADA Requirements:

• Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
• Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
• Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
• Ability to carry light objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance

Employment Status:

• Non-Exempt
• Remote

The hourly range for this role is $18 - $21 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
