Ward and Smith, P.A. is a growing full-service law firm with multiple offices throughout North Carolina. We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our New Bern office.
The Accounts Payable Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reconciling purchase orders with invoices and entering them into the Firm's system, processing expense vouchers and Firm credit card statements, reporting NC sales tax, maintaining attorney bar memberships, and assisting with other firm accounting tasks as assigned.
Applicants should be multi-task oriented, have excellent attention to detail, have the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and be able to function well in a fast-paced environment. Great customer service skills are a must. Three to five years' experience in accounting procedures, especially accounts payable functions, general office skills, and computer proficiency is required. Experience in an environment with a high volume of accounts payable is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is necessary.
A high school diploma is required. An associate's degree in business, accounting or related field, or current enrollment in such a degree program is highly desirable.
