WAUSHARA COUNTY POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Housekeeper

DEPARTMENT: Facilities and Parks

FUNCTION:

Cleans, dust, replaces supplies and performs normal housekeeping duties as assigned in the County Government Center and office of the Sheriff’s Department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs all necessary housekeeping duties in County Government Center and Sheriff Dept. including hallways, common areas, stairways, elevators, bathrooms: vacuuming carpeting, dusting, mopping and waxing floor, cleaning windows, woodwork, drinking fountains, windows, removal of trash.

2. Responsible for security of building at end of shift.

3. Stores supplies and replenishes expendable items.

4. Performs other housekeeping duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Parks.

5. Ensures that all housekeeping services are performed according to standards established by the Director of Facilities and Parks.

8. Promotes and works in a harmonious relationship with others.

9. Other duties as assigned.

WORKING ELEMENTS:

A.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• On the job training.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a public building helpful.
• Valid State issued Identification.

B.

• Knowledge of cleaning materials and their use. Routine job, with the ability to prioritize.
• Ability to perform repetitious duties each day.
• Skill to utilize time efficiently.

C.

• There are supervisory duties associated with this job.
• Responsible to maintain County Buildings in a cleanly condition.
• Care of cleaning equipment and supplies.

D.

• Employee is required to sit, use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to lift up to 40 pounds. Position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $14.33 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Housekeeping: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
