Watch Me Shine is seeking a full-time Custodian / Maintenance Specialist (Janitorial work) to in our early intervention school.

This part-time position is assigned to a professional, reliable, and results-oriented Provider. Within this role the custodian will work as our school’s overall operations specialist.

• Custodian / janitor will ensure all supplies necessary for the school to operate are consistently stocked and available.
• Maintenance Specialist will ensure that the building and grounds cleaning & maintenance are in compliance with WMS, D.H.H.S. and The State of Maine Childcare licensing requirements.
• Specialist will be an effective communicator and problem solver, developing systems and procedures to ensure that the needs of the site are always met.
• Custodian Specialist / janitor will be highly skilled in effectively prioritize tasks.
• Hours: 10:30-2:30, M-F

Essential Functions:

• Oversees daily building, site, cleaning duties and closing duties. Reports problems to the director to ensure they are fixed in a timely manner
• Cleans the building daily (common areas, kitchen, bathrooms, supports classrooms, etc.) to assure a clean and professional work environment
• Cleans up spilled water and fluids to prevent slippery surfaces
• Ensure orders are properly put away, and handle company contract orders such as Uni-First, WB Mason, etc.
• Verify the invoices match the products delivered

* Previous cleaning experience is required *

* Must be able to pass an extensive criminal, driving, and child protective background check *

Environmental Factors

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat
• A majority of the work is done at the school, indoors and outdoors

• Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Noise level can be moderate to loud.
• Required to operate and safely manage and maintain all equipment relates to job duties; i.e. lawn mower, weed whacker, hose, mop, vacuum, etc.
