Travail Kitchen and Amusements is currently searching for a barback to join our passionate and creative team in downtown Robbinsdale.

Ideal candidates are available Wednesday- Saturdays from 3pm- 11pm.

This position is ideal for people that have previously worked as servers or hosts and want to grow into bartending.

Desired Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years of hospitality or customer service experience
• 1 year of restaurant experience
• Strong customer service experience, knowledge of customer service techniques and high quality consciousness
• Effective communication skills
• Superior time management skills
• Willingness to work well with others
• Food service/culinary skills a plus

What You’ll Be Doing

• Completing all necessary barback duties ensure a smooth service
• Follow proper use of equipment and keep up with cleaning standards
• Set up station according to procedures
• Wash barware and service ware
• Refill ice coolers
• Help batch juices and cocktails
• Follow health code and keep food/beverages labeled to Travail Collective standards and all applicable liquor laws
• Assist with set up for guest arrival
• Understand your guest’s needs
• Understand menus, recipes, and knowledge of products and procedures in POS
• Understand front of house steps of service in order to assist teammates if needed
• Run beverages and provide a concise description to guests, as needed
• Keep dish area and bar dish area clean and organized
• Ensure bar cooler and beverage cooler standards are maintained
• Ensure end of night cleaning tasks are completed and checked by MOD
• Attend beverage tastings, as needed
• Attend training classes held by bar director
• Keep up to date on relevant food and beverage practices and techniques
• Create and maintain a positive and communicative relationship with coworkers
• Meet hygiene and uniform standards

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, sit
• Must be able to walk stairs and climb step ladders
• Must be able to use keyboard, mouse, and telephone
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally or 10 lbs. frequently
