JOB SUMMARY:
The Radiologic Technologist provides expert diagnostic radiological imaging and patient care to assure a high level of quality care and service to patients, physicians, and customers in and outside the radiology department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform various radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis using pre-determined protocols.
Prepare room, equipment, contrast media, and supplies necessary for each procedure.
Provide explanation of procedures and assumes care of the physical and psychological needs of the patient while in radiology.
Obtain clinical information and indication for all services. Document appropriate patient history and clinical data as indicated into EHR.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of radiology best practices and requirements e.g., OSHA, CMS, and Joint Commission.
Knowledge of healthcare supplies, logistics, and storage guidelines.
Knowledge of HIPAA and other related privacy rules.
Skill in problem-solving and analyzing issues in an efficient, methodical manner.
Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
Skill in managing multiple priorities and delegating as needed.
Ability to translate general administrative guidelines into specific action.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to build relationships and display a professional demeanor.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to act as a good representative of Think.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree in Radiology, or a related field, required. Successful completion of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in radiology required. Current certification as a Radiographer ARRT-R from American Registry of Radiologic Technology and a current Medical Radiographer License in the state of Nebraska required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Radiologic Technology required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Stand 55% or longer of an 8-hour workday.
Walk 35% of an 8-hour workday.
Sit 10% of an 8-hour workday.
Lift up to 35 pounds.
