Payroll Coordinator - Part Time

Providence, RI

The Greysmith Companies is hiring an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our internal team. This is a 20-25 hour flexible in-office position located in Providence, RI. Interested candidates should have 3-7 years of experience processing multi-state payroll and working knowledge of payroll best practices.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Coordinator

  • Perform daily payroll department operations.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting
  • Process manual check and relocation metrics.
  • Process new hire onboarding paperwork
  • Perform pre-employment screenings & background searches
  • Process company invoicing associated with weekly payroll
  • Assist with month end close
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Provide general support to Controller on project-based tasks.

Requirements of the Payroll Coordinator

  • High School Diploma and at least 3-7 years of experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in MS Office
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel
  • Working knowledge of a 3rd party payroll system preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Schedule of the Payroll Specialist

· 20 to 25 hours per week

· In-Office Position with potential for a Hybrid schedule at completion of training.

· Monday through Wednesday are necessary, but hours and remainder of the week can be tailored by the ideal candidate if they result in a consistent schedule.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
