JOB TITLE:

Part-Time Advising Aide

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide essential support to the advising team within the College of Business by assisting students with academic planning, course selection, degree requirements, and holistic development opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Providing front-line support to students through in-person, email, and virtual advising sessions.
2. Assisting students in understanding degree requirements, course sequencing, and academic policies.
3. Collaborating with academic advisors to facilitate student success workshops, information sessions, and academic planning events.
4. Maintaining accurate records of student interactions and advising appointments on Navigate.
5. Collaborating with faculty and staff within the College of Business to enhance advising resources and support services.
6. Assisting with special projects as assigned by Assistant Director, or Director of GJSSC.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, counseling, education, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of academic advising principles, college policies, and degree requirements and curriculum.
• Experience working in higher education, student services, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems (e.g., Banner, Navigate).
• Commitment to promoting student success, retention, and graduation rates within the College of Business.
