JOB TITLE:

Student Retention and Program Coordinator for Online and Continuing Education

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide support services to promote retention and academic success for University of Wyoming students. Engage students in services and communications to ensure progression toward graduation in collaboration with faculty and related student services professionals. Provide academic advising guidance. Create, implement and manage noncredit learning experiences and certification programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as direct and consistent liaison to students to support academic needs and connect them with existing resources that aide in progression toward graduation.
  • Identify specific cohort groups with targeted interventions.
  • Respond to early alerts from faculty or staff and support students in establishing goals to promote success.
  • Connect students to resources and opportunities to explore career and degree options.
  • Act as direct contact between academic support services such as tutoring, library services, advising and distance learning support. May also act as liaison between other student service areas such as counseling, student disability services, financial aid and career services.
  • May supplement individual academic advising services to new, continuing or transfer students. Support university efforts related to new student advising and registration.
  • Implement and manage services and processes for best practices in student retention. Assist with configuration of retention tools for online students withing the context of university and academic success. Track student performance. Operationalize data to guide interventions and monitor effectiveness and student progress.
  • Create, implement, and manage sustainable and robust noncredit learning experiences and certification programs. This includes management of recruitment/learning/communication tool, processes for enrollment and transcription and ensure effective usage of tool across campus. Serve as lead in the administration of noncredit programs and the creation of new programs.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position is eligible for remote work and/or a flexible work schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 4 years work-related experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as direct liaison to students supporting their needs and connecting them with existing resources that aide in their progression toward the completion of learning experiences.
  • Experience implementing or managing services and processes based on best practices in retention.
  • Administrative experience in the development or management of learning experiences.
  • Experience with student academic advising.
