GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Provides for the maintenance and upkeep of County buildings and property. Plans long range and periodic maintenance as well as for facility utilization and modernization. Excellent public relations and communication skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and the ability to direct the work of others. Ability to anticipate facility maintenance needs, look for cost saving initiatives, and prioritize preventative maintenance required. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, the public, news media, and other departments and agencies. This working supervisor position will be expected to actively provide maintenance and remodeling services for County facilities alongside the staff.
REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the facility maintenance field, preferably in multi-site or complex large facilities.
Two years management and supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to supervise and assign work.
Valid Driver's License.
Vast knowledge of all phases of repair such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheetrock, painting, building construction, welding, and heating/cooling.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Possess a thorough knowledge of current building codes and regulations, Oregon public contracting laws, etc.
Requires adherence to laws, policies, and procedures and possess strong ethical boundaries.
Must have demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize workload.
Must also possess a detailed familiarity with Federal and State Occupational Health and Safety requirements as well as ADA Compliance requirements.
Must provide excellent leadership and supervision.
Ability to be a self-starter.
Ability to be a good team player.
Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
