JOB DESCRIPTION

A. PURPOSE OF JOB

The Pharmacist’s primary accountability is to be responsible for the operation of the pharmacy site in accordance with the goals and objectives of the pharmacy. The professional accountability is to provide safe, accurate and appropriate prescriptions and clinical services to patients within the framework of professional standards of care and legal requirements.

B. JOB DUTIES

● Ensures adherence to USP 795 and 797 standards, NABP standards, and Company quality standards

● Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care

● Pre-check all compounds prior to entering the lab

● Perform final verification for compounds, traditional scripts and bulk compound RDTs/capsules

● Record compound input numbers from previous day

● Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed

● Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients

● Directs pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals

● Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs

● Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory

● Assesses medications to determine identity, purity, and strength

● Instructs interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy

● Assist with overflow for new prescription orders/transfers

● Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals

● Answer overflow counseling calls for compounds

● Ensure compound baskets and workflow on traditional side are being processed in a timely manner

● File C-2 hard copies, lock safes, C-2 count, Robot Report

● Actively pursue continuous learning and professional development on efficient sales, communication & product knowledge training.

● Perform Company business in accordance with all regulations, Company policy and procedures

● Demonstrate high ethical and professional standards at all times

● Act as customer service representative and liaison to physicians, clinics and hospitals and Stonegate Pharmacy

● Other job duties as assigned

C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

● Bachelor’s Degree or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree

● Texas Pharmacist License

● Great people and phone skills

● Diligent, personal & time management skills

● Ability to enhance existing relationships and create new ones

● Excellent oral and written communication skills

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

● Represent yourself and company in a highly professional and ethical manner

● Demonstrated experience with self-directed learning

● Ability to learn and articulate complex scientific material

D. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

● Excellent oral and written communication skills

● Ability to learn and articulate complex scientific material

● Existing network of physicians, clinics and hospitals

E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

● Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis

● Ability to sit and stand up for prolonged periods of time

● Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, calculator and other office equipment

● Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate documents and papers

● Occasional bending, stooping and stretching
