Position Title: Food Runner
Position Reports to: Dining Operations Manager

FLSA Category: Non Exempt; Hourly Position 

To provide service in all a la carte areas to members and their guests. Complete the set up and clean up of all areas pertaining to a la carte as well as any other tasks assigned by management. Enhance dining experience by following proper service procedures and by exceeding member expectations. Be courteous, maintain a professional demeanor, work harmoniously with others, and strive to excel.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Proper serving and clearing of food and beverage
• Knowledge of our menu and ability to answer questions about ingredients or cooking methods
• Setting a table properly: positioning of china, silver and glassware
• Ability and willingness to communicate courteously and politely with members
• Gathering and setting of daily functions: placing tables, chairs and setting to specifications noted on write-up
• Most important requirement is that the busser show up on time, be properly groomed and dressed, and in a positive frame of mind to be a productive member of our team
• Stock water glasses, wine glasses, teapots, creamers, cups and saucers, bread plates
• Ready each table according to reservation sheet—place water on table 15 minutes before reservation time
• Assist servers with clearing tables after each course
• Bus trays to kitchen after clearing
• Refill water glasses
• Replenish bread and spread/oil on tables if requested
• Return all trays to kitchen
• Restock linen
• Restock silverware, glassware, cups and saucers, bread plates, teapots, creamers
• Empty trash from side stand to dumpster
• Sweep floor in side stand
• Assist servers with re-setting tables for breakfast or for dinner
• Attend menu tastings
• Attend additional training classes as announced, i.e. wine training, banquet training
• Additional duties/projects as assigned by management

Uniform:

• White buttoned shirt (2 to be provided by TCC on first day)
• Black pants
• Black bow tie (to be provided by TCC on first day)
• Black plain, clean/polished, comfortable work shoes
• The Country Club will provide a black vest and/or jacket.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able bend and reach for items off shelf, carry trays, able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours
• Use touch screen for POS system
