Pre-ETS INSTRUCTOR
ABOUT THE ACCESS ACADEMY
The Access Academy (TAA) partners with the State of Tennessee (State) via the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program to assist local school systems (School) to comply with the Work Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) by providing curriculum and instruction that will equip and encourage qualifying students, ages 14 to 22, who have Individualized Education Plans [IEP], to successfully transition from school to the workplace. TAA seeks to create consistently excellent learning experiences from classroom to classroom so every Special Education (SPED) student has the opportunity to reach workplace readiness before graduation. TAA empowers and supports instructors to facilitate highly interactive, objective-driven lessons in self-discovery, career exploration, communication skills, self-advocacy, job-searching, interviewing skills, independent living, and post-secondary decisions in order to help students identify and leverage their individual strengths, skills, resources, and experiences to find successful, sustainable, and satisfying employment after high school in a competitive market.
