About Temple Israel
Temple Israel is widely recognized as the largest reform temple in New England, and it is one of the most prominent synagogues in the greater Boston area. With over 1,250 member families, our impact within the Boston Jewish Community runs deep. Temple Israel offers an array of experiences and cultural and social programming, including interfaith inclusion and social justice activism. Our historic building is home to our FJECC Preschool, a K-12 Religious School and Teen Program and so much more. The Position
Our facilities manager plays a pivotal role throughout the organization, maintaining our facility, managing continuous improvements, and ensuring that our facility allows us to carry out our mission. This person will collaborate across departments to best support our everyday programming and events, as well as larger community-wide opportunities. The facilities manager will fully oversee our 110,000 square foot facility, and through vendor and budget management will make sure that our operations run smoothly and that our capital investments align with our goals. This position reports to the Executive Director, will oversee the facilities staff including reception and events coordination, and will work closely with the lay-led Building and Grounds Committee; as well as interact regularly with all building staff and clergy in use and care of the building.
Key Responsibilities
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
This position works fully onsite. Hours are generally 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours, including major Jewish holidays and some weekend events. This position requires being on call for emergencies.
