Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Rental Manager, the Shop Helper will perform various shop duties assisting mechanics in repairs, cleaning, receiving/ shipping, washing of equipment and other similar tasks.
Essential Functions Of The Job
- Conduct minor repairs and servicing to equipment as directed by the Service Manager
- Follow procedures outlined in the work orders and policy handbook
- Maintain a clean and respectable facility, shop equipment, work environment, and parking areas
- Assist Heavy Equipment Mechanic as needed
- Pick up and deliver parts as needed
- Wear company-supplied uniform when conducting company business
- Maintain and organize shop and storage areas - ensuring proper storage of flammable items
- Operate all company-owned equipment and vehicles in a safe, lawful, and respectful manner
- Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task
- Must be self-motivated showing complete accountability, timely in all assignments
- Must possess the ability and willingness to learn and possibly advance to Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Must have the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- High School Diploma or GED
