Position Summary This position is primarily responsible for receiving, checking and processing customs brokerage documents and using scheduled deadlines to follow-up on shipments. Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)
Data entry and the production of entry summaries, invoices, reports and audit files
Communicate shipping documentation issues to Import Analyst/Release, or Supervisor as appropriate
Send emails to get documents or to get clarification about documents
Select proper tariff classification from customer records
Apply additional tariff classification when stipulated in customer records
Confirm releases and contact customer when there are issues
Recognize and apply duty reduction programs such as NAFTA or GSP
Set up file documents for splitting (entry & bill assemble process)
Complete daily status reports as necessary
Support bridge locations and perform all necessary processes of a Release Agent
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Preference to candidates with customs brokerage experience

Knowledge of PC’s and related software, and maintenance and retrieval of documents

Ability to work at a fast pace and multi-task while maintaining accuracy

Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to focus on computer screen and / or written materials for extended periods of time
Ability to type at least 45 alphanumeric words per minute with minimal mistakes
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
Occasional overtime, holiday and / or weekend work will be required
Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely and efficient manner
Must be able to professionally handle situations as they arise
