Delivery Associates should possess certain skill sets and perform their job duties as outlined below:
Skills

• Be knowledgeable of the Company policies, processes and procedures.
• Participate in effective listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to properly and safely operate warehouse equipment without causing harm to equipment, property, inventory or persons. Training certificates may be required (i.e. forklift certification, etc.).
• Basic computer skills as well as the ability to use phone systems and other electronic devices required.

• Interpersonal and exceptional customer service skills required.
• Ability to actively engage in conversations with customers.
• Uses time efficiently and completes work in a timely manner.
• Observes company safety and security procedures.

Job Responsibilities/ Duties

• Drives a truck, van, or automobile to deliver products or render services to/for customers.
• Perform truck inspections daily.
• Clean truck out daily or after each use.
• Verify fuel levels prior to departure and upon return daily and as needed.
• Loads the truck, van, trailer or automobile with product and properly secure for delivery or pick-up.
• Verify truck shipment is accurate for scheduled day (accurate box and pipe counts).
• Adapts driving style to current road and weather conditions.
• Assists in the warehouse while not on delivery.
• Collects payment from customers.
• Records transactions with a customer receipt.
• Records sales/delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
• Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for delivery or pick-up.
• Listens to, reports and resolves customer service complaints.
• Writes customer order and instructions.
• Assist in pulling product and organizing shipping lanes for next day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or higher.
• Related job experience or training preferred but not required.
• Valid Texas State driver’s license w/ clean driving record.
• Must be 25 years or older to drive due to insurance requirements.

Physical Expectations

• Required to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Required to talk or hear clearly, with or without the help of a medical or mechanical device.
• Occasionally required to bend, squat, twist or climb.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 25 pounds).
• Occasionally required to lift moderate weights (25-50 pounds).
• Occasionally required to lift heavy weights (75-175 pounds).
• Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
• Specific vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus with or without the help of glasses, contacts or other vision aides.

Work Environment

• Daily and prolonged exposure to outside weather conditions such as extreme heat, extreme cold, wet or humid conditions, high winds, etc.
• Exposure to moving machinery.
• Exposure to chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
• Work availability should remain flexible as schedules are subject to change based on department and company needs.
