Safe Harbor is looking for a Part-Time Support Advocate, The Support Advocate is responsible for shelter operations and survivor support during their shift: 1 pm -11:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

What you'll do:

• Ensure needs of residents are met during your shift and act as the point of contact for survivors and the community.
• Conduct intake interviews for new residents and provide advocacy, safety planning, and supportive services for Safe Harbor clients as needed.
• Provide crisis management, to include responding to crisis calls, and follow Safe Harbor's procedures for a crisis or emergency situations during shift.
• Act as a Safe Harbor liaison and collaborate with community organizations to meet survivor needs.
• Conduct shelter resident checks which includes checking door locks, windows, and blinds. Ensure residents have completed chores and facility is clean and orderly.
• Conduct security checks, which includes setting alarms and monitoring security cameras.
• Maintain and review required documentation for survivor files and communication logs.

• You are able to relate positively to those who are diverse in age, ethnicity, socioeconomic levels, beliefs, and lifestyles.
• You have a passion for Safe Harbor and our mission.
• You are able to respond empathetically to victims of crime to reduce levels of trauma and provide support during crisis intervention.
• You can build and maintain professional collaborative relationships within the community.
• You can pass a background investigation check (BCI) and have a valid Utah Drivers License.
