RWDI is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Air Emissions Testing team, the Environmental Technician will focus on Air Emissions. This is an 8-month contract position starting in May 2024 until the end of December 2024.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Planning and executing technical aspects of air testing projects (focus on Stack/Fugitive Emissions Monitoring at industrial facilities)
  • Preparation, calibration, repair, and deployment of source testing equipment
  • Work in a team environment to complete assigned tasks
  • Learn and follow standard procedures in stack or source testing/sampling
  • Equipment, mobile lab cleaning and glassware preparation
  • Working to strict schedules while maintaining a high level of quality
  • Writing of technical reports
  • Calculation of emissions based on testing results

We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or associate degree in Science, Environmental Technology, Engineering or Instrumentation.
  • Strong computer, analytical and technical “hands-on” skills
  • An aptitude for practical problem solving
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation (gas analyzers or other) is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to perform manual tasks and be physically fit with the ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • Comfortable with working at heights
  • Field/site experience is a definite asset

Candidates should also possess:

  • Strong people and team skills as well as being highly motivated
  • Previous Experience in the Air Quality field is an asset.
  • Experience with regulatory emission reporting is an asset
  • An ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with no supervision
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities, coordination and consultation skills
  • Willingness to travel and to work long hours, and evenings. Requirement for occasional weekend support work based on business requirements.
  • Ability to work on several projects at once and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
