RTW Management is looking for experienced Shuttle Bus Drivers

The Shuttle Bus Driver at the Veterans Affairs (VA) facility plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient transportation services for veterans, patients, staff, and visitors. The Shuttle Bus Driver will be responsible for operating designated shuttle routes, maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the shuttle, and providing exceptional customer service to passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate designated shuttle routes according to established schedules and routes, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Provide courteous and professional customer service to veterans, patients, staff, and visitors, assisting with boarding and disembarking as needed.
• Maintain a clean and well-maintained shuttle bus, including regular cleaning, fueling, and conducting routine safety inspections.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, answering questions about routes, schedules, and VA services as needed.
• Assist passengers with mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and walkers, ensuring their safe transportation on the shuttle.
• Handle any passenger issues or concerns calmly and professionally, escalating to management as necessary.
• Keep accurate records of shuttle operations, including mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns regarding the shuttle to appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings as required by the VA facility.
• Adhere to all VA policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations.
• Prior experience as a shuttle bus driver or similar role preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as luggage or mobility aids, as needed.

The compensation for this position is a combined pay rate of $23.16 per hour, which includes a base rate of $18.59 per hour, plus an additional $4.57 per hour in health and wellness dollars. The health and wellness dollars are provided in accordance with the Service Contract Act (SCA) contract guidelines and are applicable to up to 40 hours of work per week. Health and wellness dollars are intended to be used by employees to pay for health and wellness-related expenses. This can include medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums or retirement contributions. If the employee chooses not to enroll in benefits or contribute to their 401k with these health and wellness dollars, they will be paid out as regular compensation as a separate line item on the employee’s paycheck.
