HULLER ROOM OPERATOR

SUMMARY : Operate and help maintain equipment in separation

Decorticating) room. Regulate flow of seed to decorticators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following :

Inspects equipment to insure that it is operating to established criteria.

Adjusts feed through decorticators to maintain even load on all machines.

Maintain proper flow of black-seed to separation room so all decorticators are loaded and the amount of run-around is minimized.

Maintain proper level of meats in the meats tank.

Cleans decorticator screens and trays at least twice each shift.

Cleans screens on safety shakers twice a shift.

Inspects rotary drum filter to insure proper operations, cleans out any choke ups that nay occur.

Cleans trays on hull beaters twice a shift.

Performs routine maintenance on mill equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, and minor mechanical repair.

Report all mechanical problems to supervisor.

Report all safety hazards to supervisor.

Cleans dust and lint from overhead structures.

Keep work area clean by sweeping, shoveling, picking up trash, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None

Assists in other areas as directed by supervisor.

Must comply with all Yazoo Valley Oil Mill rules, regulations, and safety procedures.

Must comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and DEQ regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : To perform this lob successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE : Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Drivers license preferred.

Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, respirators, hearing protectors, etc. is required in designated areas.
