Providence Engineering and Environmental Group LLC is Hiring a Waste / Groundwater Environmental Director Near Baton Rouge, LA

Description

SUMMARY:

The Environmental Director position is responsible for providing overall leadership, direction, and oversight to the staff you supervise. This includes, but is not limited to, establishing and implementing the group’s objectives, developing, and implementing growth strategies for both individuals and the Group, and ensuring these strategies and plans are in alignment with the overall company vision. The Environmental Director monitors and ensures staffing levels are adequate and that all personnel possess the competencies and skills necessary to support growth and the delivery of professional work products and that group goals are achieved. The Environmental Director reports directly to the Environmental Principal or in some cases, the Managing Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience of project management within the environmental sector.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing staff.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in project proposal writing.
  • Expertise in waste and groundwater remediation.
  • Familiarity with waste permitting and waste compliance.
  • Leadership training and experience leading interdisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage environmental projects related to waste and groundwater remediation.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize your expertise in project proposal writing to develop compelling proposals for new initiatives and client projects.
  • Directly manage staff and project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in waste and groundwater remediation, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, including waste permitting and waste compliance.
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate environmental hazards and ensure worker safety.
  • Utilize leadership training to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence in their work.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders, utilizing your client network to drive business growth and expansion.
