ProKidney, LLC is Hiring a Sr Director, Program Management (PMO) Lead Near Boston, MA

Join us in developing pioneering therapies that aim to transform the treatment of CKD and change patients' lives. Our technology is designed to treat diseased kidneys using a patient's own cells and may prevent or delay dialysis or transplant.
In this position, the Program Management Lead will oversee and implement the launch of a new Program Management Office (PMO) for ProKidney. This person will be responsible for development, leadership and continuous management of programs leading to business success within ProKidney. Working across team leadership, this individual will:
  • Ensure measurable definition and progress towards key objectives;
  • Manage specific and diverse projects and processes throughout the business;
  • Coach and lead program managers to drive and execute timely valuable program deliverables;
The Program Management Lead will be responsible for the development and integration of strategy into the global development plan and provide operational leadership by working with functional partners and team representatives to deliver robust, fit for purpose plans. Additionally, you will monitor and oversee the execution of the plans throughout their lifecycle while identifying and communicating issues and risks and developing mitigation plans.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strength in communication and organizational skills to succeed in a role that is highly cross-functional and broadly engaged across the company. In this position you will bring strong drug development program management experience and the ability to build and deploy tools and best practices to ensure the successful execution of a Project Management Office at a rapidly growing organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Partnership with Functional Team Leaders to manage cross-functional project teams, establish project goals and milestones, set scientific direction, and establish the development path.
    • Partner with functional team leadership to establish strong understanding of vision, purpose and expected results and work collaboratively to ensure measurable goals and objectives are defined across functions and aligned with vision.
    • Work with the Program Management Team to develop and translate the strategy into a robust, competitive development plan of key cross-functional program related activities and milestones including identification of critical path activities.
    • Drive development of integrated development plan and target product profile.
    • Provide leadership of project team by overseeing strategy execution – manage program-team meetings, including agendas, stakeholder management, and documentation of actions/decisions.
    • Define opportunities for acceleration and manage the assumptions regarding human resources, costs, risk, required to accomplish certain gains in time.
    • Proactively identifies and escalates business issues and considers options to manage implications and risks on project timelines, budgets and goals.
    • Monitors progress against approved project plans to note deviations and suggest corrective actions.
    • Integrates activities with all functional lines to create alignment of program development plans with functional area plans.
  • Manage some higher level projects, when appropriate, in addition to oversight of the team of program managers.
  • Provide scenario planning to support robust decision making through in-depth analysis of program activities.
  • Drive decision-making on programs and execution of agreed upon program plans, manage team accountability, cross-functional integration, and overall program transparency.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to facilitate appropriate information exchange between functional lines, asset lead, core teams and senior management.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives and brings in external perspective and industry standard practices.
  • Contribution to organization-wide corporate and strategic planning activities, including corporate goal setting and budgeting.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or related industry experience required, preferably in clinical stage organizations.
  • Undergraduate degree required / advanced degree in life science, project management or business preferred.
  • Direct experience in biopharmaceutical Program Planning required.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management processes, tools, templates and management techniques required.
  • Strong experience with Project Management Tools such as MS Project, Asana, Basecamp, etc., visualization tools including PowerPoint, and other planning/tracking software/platforms.
  • Exceptional computer proficiency – advanced knowledge of MS-Office applications required (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to key stakeholders that effectively communicate key findings, and summarize insights and implications to communication strategies.
  • Risk, budget and resource management.
  • Basic knowledge of multi-disciplinary biopharmaceutical drug development required.
  • PMP certification preferred
