Industrial Marine Services, Inc. is Hiring a TUG CAPTAIN – EXPERIENCED
60 yrd old private family marine terminal / owner operator seeking experienced Captain to run company owned push boats (56’ @ 1000hp & 25’ @ 600 HP) providing integrated support services using crane / barge including marine construction, dredging (bed leveler dragging) within Port of Savannah and local area.
Salary: Hourly Non-Exempt $40/hr , eligible for overtime after 40 hours, dependent on experience
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Captains are leaders / problem solvers / supervisors with strong communication skills responsible for the overall operation of their boat and crews.
- Plan, implement, manage and delegate tasks according to priorities and goals
- Manage crew schedules, performance and logistics.
- Supervise, train, mentor and provide feedback to crew members
- Lead weekly safety meeting, adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures including required reporting.
- Utilize various hand tools
- Ensure vessel(s) have all required resources
- Loading and unloading equipment
- Maintain equipment in clean, uncluttered and proper working order
- Work as directed by Senior Management
- Typical work week based on previous history, 50~55 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Must have 10 years experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in a Captain’s role
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience managing crews
- Must possess a current Master of Towing or Mate of Tow Pilot/Inland and/or Near Coastal endorsement on current MMC
- Must possess a current TWIC
- Ability to work 12 hour watches Monday-Friday with occasional weekend availability as needed
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certified preferred
- Must pass pre-employment physical, capable to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs / ladders.
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Must pass a background check
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation to/from assigned job sites
- Must live or relocate within a reasonable commute to/from Savannah, GA
- Must be flexible and available to work all shifts including overtime when required
