Description

Glen Agnes’s security team operates 24/7. Shifts are as follows; Grave 0000 - 0800, Day 0800-1600, Swing 1600 - 2400.

Under general supervision, perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the security and customer service field. Patrol and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity or, infractions of rules. Operate Visitor Registration system to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited visitors into restricted areas. Communicate via radio or telephone to call for assistance from police, fire, or emergency medical services as the situation dictates. Maintaining the security and safety of people and property in assigned area of Glen Agnes. Uniform requirements for each employee are as follows: Glen Agnes will supply security polo shirts to each employee. The quantity will be determined by employment status of full time or part time. Employees are responsible to supply their own black pants, black belt, black shoes or boots.

Glen Agnes provides a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision & life insurance, along with vacation, sick, and holiday pay and a 403 (b) retirement plan.

Starting Pay: $16.00- $17.50/hour

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Patrol property premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Call police, EMS or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when office is closed.
  • Warn visitors of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.
  • Analyzing information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Managing complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers and tenants.
  • Communicating with people outside Glen Agnes, Fresno PD, Fresno Fire, American Ambulance, or any other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, by telephone or e-mail.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Minimum Training and Experience: Ability to read, speak and understand English; graduation from high school and at least one year of experience in a related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities preferred. Guard Card issued by 'Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.'
