Position DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Facilities Tech Assistant to support our facilities management team in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks related to daily routines and procedures, building maintenance, equipment repairs, safety inspections, and general upkeep of our premises. This role requires someone with strong organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Location: Palo Alto and Mountain View Campus
Employment Status: Part-Time, Hourly (21hrs/week or more)
Summary
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and other building equipment under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Conduct routine tasks, and inspections of facilities to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Perform minor repairs and troubleshooting of equipment and building systems as needed.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of facilities for events, meetings, or other activities.
  • Support in inventory management of supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness of facilities, including common areas, restrooms, and workspaces.
  • Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures, including emergency response plans and OSHA regulations compliance.
  • Collaborate with other members of the facilities team to prioritize tasks and ensure all maintenance needs are addressed promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the facilities manager or supervisor.
Required Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks that may require bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed for emergency repairs or special projects.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Salary Range: $25-$30/hour
