The Manufacturing Support Specialist helps to ensure flow in the Manufacturing Value Stream, supports by monitoring that the standard work requirements are being met, plans / promotes material flow, and assures products are produced to high-quality standards.

A Manufacturing Support Specialist shall be knowledgeable within their assigned product group and / or specialty. Responsible for promoting lean efficiency, continuous improvement, and support for strategic value stream goals.

Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Ensure that the facility is fully operational and all utilities function properly.
• Support daily operations activities in facilities management, including building maintenance / repairs, common area upkeep, office maintenance, flow loop maintenance schedule, and machine maintenance schedule upkeep.
• Maintain stock levels of spare parts for facilities equipment within budget.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and assist with energy management.
• Assist in facilities safety activities.
• Provide administrative vendor support to all facility waste programs.
• Assist in coordinating all facility-related activities related to ISO14001, ISO9001, and ISO17025.
• Provide administrative support to calibration equipment upkeep throughout the facility.
• Be a liaison to facility functions with property management, including fire inspections, alarms, and other related facility tasks.
• Backup to other production processes as required.
• Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested by Supervisor or Manager.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS :

• Knowledgeable of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
• Understanding of ISO standards is preferred.
• Action-oriented with effective problem-solving skills.
• Display strong leadership, sound judgment, and maturity.
• Ability to stand and perform job duties during shift.
• Good communication / interpersonal skills and working in a team environment.
• Able to give constructive feedback and coaching to peers. Open to receiving feedback from others.
• Possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job-related skills while guiding others to do the same.
• General knowledge of personal computers and application of office software packages, including word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet software.
