Nulixir Inc. is Hiring a Laboratory Technician Near Austin, TX

Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our R&D team as a Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the testing, analysis, and development of Nulixir’s proprietary products. The ideal candidate will have excellent laboratory skills and a passion for the food industry. You will be part of a small team working on producing novel consumer good formulations.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

  • Supporting scientists in the product development and optimization of food products, processes, and formulations, adhering to guidelines and directions to ensure precise development.
  • Conducting various tests and analyses on food samples using laboratory equipment and techniques, including but not limited to:
  • Chemical analysis (moisture content, pH, etc.).
  • Quality analysis (shelf-life, stability, etc.).
  • Sensory evaluation (taste, texture, aroma, etc.).
  • Documenting accurate records of test results, procedures, and observations.
  • Managing inventory of lab ingredients and supplies to maintain optimal levels.
  • Coordinating receiving and shipping of samples.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the laboratory space, ensuring readiness for testing activities at all times.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including research and development, quality assurance, and production, to support product development and improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in food safety and quality assurance activities, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Contributing to the identification and resolution of quality issues, deviations, and non-conformances.
  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately perform tests and interpret data.
  • 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting with proficiency in using laboratory equipment such as DLS and software for analysis and documentation.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance principles.
  • Experience working in a GMP environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
