Newmeadow is Hiring a Behaviorist (Level 2) Near Halfmoon, NY

The Behaviorist (Level 2) is responsible for supporting behavioral and learning needs of Newmeadow students, and classroom coverage as needed. This position involves working collaboratively with special educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, a physical therapist, and teaching assistants in the delivery of quality ABA services in a school setting. Under the supervision of the Lead Behavorist, the Behaviorist will assist in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and skill acquisition plans, and collect and input data.

Essential Responsibilites

  • Provide classroom support as assigned by Director or Lead Behaviorist.
  • Work with ABA clinic team and classroom staff to design and run skill acquisition plans for students.
  • Collect, input and analyze data and metrics on student progress on skill acquisition programming. Make any changes, as needed.
  • Work with Behavior Analyst and classroom staff to monitor Behavior Plans for students.
  • Collect and input data and metrics on student progress on behavior goals and Behavior Plans.
  • Work with students to support behavioral and educational goals in accordance with direction from Directors or Lead Behaviorist.
  • May be called to respond to escalation and/or other urgent behavior situations.
  • Attend all relevant staff meeting and in-services.
  • Facilitate open communication, a team approach, and maintain a positive attitude toward program function and agency goals.
  • Keep up-to-date on emails and other agency information.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance record.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or a clinical or treatment field in psychology, social work, school psychology, applied psychology as it relates to human development and clinical intervention, or a related human services field; specialized training or experience in assessment techniques and behavioral support plan development.

OR

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst Assistant in good standing.

OR

  • Working towards certification in Behavior Analysis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
