This is highly skilled office and field inspection work in securing compliance with state and county codes, ordinances and regulations pertaining to construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, and change in occupancy of buildings and structures, to include structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, as well as private well construction and private septic systems. Responsible for performance of plan review in the office and related field inspections to determine required compliance with all adopted construction and environmental codes as required for specific occupancy types. Also assists in gathering and documenting evidence of violations of building, zoning and environmental regulations for use in the enforcement of applicable county codes. Performs drinking and waste water sampling in preparation for lab testing.

Minimum qualifications required: High school diploma or equivalent, three years of experience working in the construction industry in one or more of the following areas: building, mechanical, plumbing and/or electrical or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must gain Residential Electrical Inspector certification through the International Code Council within one year of hire; other related certifications are highly encouraged. Must fulfill 12 CEU hours related to water quality and/or environmental protection annually. Starting full-time salary: $59,280 - $65,568 DOQ. Excellent benefits package.
