Mate Precision Technologies is Hiring an Assembler I Near Anoka, MN

Description:

The Assembler at Mate Precision Technologies performs repetitive bench and line assembly operations for short- and long-run products and qualifies parts to conform to specifications.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Place parts in a specified relationship with each other.
  • Bolt, clip, screw, rivet, cement, glue, press, solder, braze, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Tend basic machines such as saw, manual grinder or mill, welder, hydraulic and arbor presses, riveting machine, etc. to perform fitting or fastening operations.
  • Use inspection equipment, deburring tools, and hand and power tools to fit, fasten, polish, and measure parts and/or assemblies.
  • Inspect parts for functionality and conformance to specifications.
  • Clean and treat parts or assemblies with rust preventative.
  • Aid in maintaining an accurate inventory through correct and precise recording of component usage.
  • Set air pressures and rate of sand introduction to the proper specifications for various metals and parts as specified in process documentation or per foreman instructions.
  • Determine when the blast operation is complete and when the parts are appropriately cleaned.
  • Determine when the black oxide operation is complete; inspect parts for conformance to specifications; and set times in tanks to ensure consistent parts' appearance.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by the foreman/manager.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal English is required.
  • Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Competent in operating and performing simple manual equipment and basic inspection devices.
  • Experience working in ERP systems (Such as Oracle or Factivity) is preferred.
  • The ability to understand and operate a computer is required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • The use of hands to finger, handle, or feel parts that vary in size from very large to extremely small.
  • The ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus is required.
  • Hand-eye coordination is used in daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to vibration and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation details: 23.38-25.47 Hourly Wage
