Responsible for ongoing meal production and timely meal service
Test new recipes
Clean the kitchen; put away/organize food deliveries
Assist with kitchen inspections as needed, to ensure the foodservice production area is safe and sanitary.
Inspect storage areas on a regular basis for proper temperatures, cleanliness, and order
Prepares hot and cold foods and beverages for residents' meals as assigned by the Cook or Dietary Manager, following recipes, and posted menus, for both regular, modified, and therapeutic diets
Reads tray card to prepare food trays. Checks carefully for allergies, food likes/dislikes, and other specific instructions on the tray cards
Sets up trays with proper dishes, glasses, cups and eating utensils for meals to be served including correct assistive feeding devices as indicated on the tray

Requirements
One year of cooking experience in a high-volume environment is preferred
Food Handler's Permit required
High School diploma
Minimum 18 years of age
Possess excellent communication skills
Willing to provide direction to cook-aides and dish-aides, as needed
Possess a great attitude while providing prompt, efficient, and courteous service
Passion to learn and grow within the cooking profession
