Job Description:
The Catering Chef - Culinary Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the catering operation, including menu design, event coordination, scheduling, financial review, ordering, and safe food practices. The successful candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a proven track record of success in the catering industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing menus that meet the needs of clients and guests
- Coordinating events to ensure that they run smoothly and efficiently
- Scheduling staff to ensure that all events are properly staffed
- Reviewing financial reports to ensure that the catering operation is profitable
- Ordering supplies and ingredients to ensure that the catering operation has everything it needs to succeed
- Ensuring that all food is prepared and served in accordance with safe food practices
The Catering Chef - Culinary Director will be a key member of the catering team and will work closely with other members of the team to ensure that all events are successful. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Desire to learn in a fast-paced, up-scale kitchen environment. Basic knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role may require continuous standing during the entire shift, frequent use of hands or fingers, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds. The position may also involve encountering hazards such as slipping and tripping, with a moderate to high noise level in the work environment.
