The Mental Health Association of Frederick County is seeking a PT Parent Mentor as part of our Family Support Services division. The Parent Mentor will be able to work collaboratively with parents/caregivers who have, or been impacted by, previous incarceration, a history of substance abuse, and/or involvement in the child welfare system to create goals and implement strategies in order to improve relationships. Ideal candidates will establish and maintain effective relationships and boundaries with clients, provide additional individual support to parents/caregivers involved in Building Resilient Families program, refer clients to additional services and supports as needed, provide written assessments to referral sources when necessary and maintain accurate case records and data on clients. Must be able to work collaboratively within a supportive work environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Education or a related field of study and/or two years’ related experience. Ability to take initiative, work creatively and have a willingness to work evening and weekend hours. Bilingual preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
