Job/Position Title: Director of Community Partnerships Status: Exempt
Primary Purpose: The Director of Community Partnerships is a vital link between Maui Humane Society and our community, working to foster positive relationships, advocate for community needs, and drives meaningful impact across all Maui County on behalf of MHS. Additional responsibilities include the following:
● Develop and implement comprehensive community engagement strategies to foster strong relationships between the organization and its community members.
● Advocate for the community’s needs and interests within the organization.
● Coordinate and oversee community events, workshops, and forums to encourage active participation and dialogue between the organization and the community.
● Establish and maintain partnerships with local businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and other organizations to collaborate on community initiatives.
● Collaborate with Marketing to manage the organization’s social media presence and content related to community engagement, ensuring timely and relevant communication.
● Design and execute surveys and other feedback mechanisms to gauge community needs, perceptions, and satisfaction levels with the organization’s efforts.
● Oversee the development and allocation of the community engagement budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently to achieve strategic objectives.
● Advocate for community interests within the organization, providing insights and recommendations to senior management on policy and program development.
● Manage team dedicated to achieving community initiatives and partnerships.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
● High school graduate with a minimum two years of college level studies.
● Minimum 5 years supervisory experience with budgetary responsibilities.
● Excellent public relations skills; strong written and oral communication skills.
● Possession of a valid Driver’s license with a clean driving and criminal abstract.
● Acquisition of a Hawaii Driver’s license within six months of appointment.
Work Hours: This is a salaried position that requires flexibility. While a typical workweek will be 40 hours including weekends at times, various shelter needs and attendance at events, meetings and other functions may require longer hours or evening work.
