Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Cardiac Critical Care Services to oversee and manage the delivery of exceptional services within Critical Care. The Director Cardiac Critical Care Services supports the Cardiovascular ICU (8 beds) and the Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit. (8 beds). The CVICU provides care to fresh post-surgical open hearts, valves, and cardiovascular patients with devices to include but not limited to: impellas, intraortic balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz lines, and others. In addition, this patient population includes post-surgical vascular patients. The CV Stepdown Unit is near the CVICU and cares for open heart patients following extubation (less than 24 hours) and other patients including critically ill STEMI cases and others.
This Director reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. The Director is accountable for high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
This leader will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice in each unit. The Director will supervise and evaluate the work activities of all nursing personnel, provide clinical leadership, and set strategic and long-term goals for the nursing staff. The Director will assess performance objectives for each nursing unit and organize, coordinate, develop, and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards.
Minimum Education
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and take appropriate action.
BLS required
ACLS required
Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license).
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum 5 years RN experience, CVICU experience required; Minimum 2 years management experience preferred.

Pay: $134,117.00 - $141,786.00 per year
